🥰🎉3s MATCH REPORT 🎉🥰

The Prior Fiery 3s 🔥 vs South Antrim 7s

After the long drive🚗  the girls were eager for another win🎖. From the get go the girls were strong🦾  and ready pushing forward threatening their defence. With Scarlett and Sophie linking well 🔗 with good passing and communication  amongst them. It wasn’t long before a beautiful set up pass from Sophie into Alisha on the P spot resulted in a well earned goal 🥅 . Prior 1 nil up🏑 . Not long after the girls were successful again as a repeat of the first goal but this time a set up from Scarlett into a beautiful strike 💥 from Alisha to end the 1st quarter 2-0.✌

The second quarter began with a strong break from South Antrim which was swiftly dealt with by our strong defence  and cleared wide by Hannah McMorris👀  South Antrim tried again but were unsuccessful ❌ gaining a chance through a free outside the D but this didn’t seem to shake our defence as they stood firm🦾 and Kara Bates pushed the ball back up the pitch🏑 to Molly White on the right hand side who gave a weighted pass  to Katie Marshall who then successfully broke into the D but despite priors chances no goal resulted😥 . Antrim made another break though but was cut off quickly by Kara Young 🥊 who bolted from the left to the right hand side denying them entry into our circle. ⛔The second quarter ended prior remaining 2-0 up.🏑🦾

An inspirational team talk from our wonderful captain Kara B and Jimmy Clarke😵  helped set us up to further our win in the 2nd half. 👌

Prior started strong from pass back, pressurising south’s defence as Alisha McCandles made several skillfull breakthroughs🏑  swearving past the defence then a strong pass into Sophie McKillop who calmly put it into the back of the net🥅.  With several great runs up the side from Katie Marshal🏃‍♀️ on the right continuously putting pressure on the oppositions defence. On the other side of the pitch Gaby Nixon was also working hard creating plays for chances on the goal.💯 Another break from south antrim was quickly obliterated by Eva Gorman who calmly passed it up the line towards Evie Walker⚡ . Leaving the score 3-0 at the end of the 3rd quarter🤩

Going into the last quarter prior were hungry for more goals😦 . As from the start prior were pushing up toward the D with Alisha passing directing to Evie Walker who made the square pass to Jess Gillen🔗  who then picked out Katie Marshall on the wing and with a weighted pass pushed the ball up to the right. 💥 Several attempts on goal through short corners but yet were denied.🥅  With some crafty play from Scarlett Clarke as a pass from Sophie McKillop gave her the opportunity to get past the keeper to solidify the win🏆  . Soon after scarlett tried again as she struck the ball into the back corner after a fierce battle with the keeper but unfortunately her goal was disallowed leaving the final score still 4-0.

POM - Sophie McKillop🥳

Overall everyone “worked their socks off”🧦 for a well deserved win and a fabulous team performance.

3s MATCH REPORT

Prior took the dreaded road to ballymena, but the journey didn’t sway our play.

In the first quarter Ballymena started off strong and dominated the game. Prior was slightly shaky and unfortunately ballymena found the back of the net.

Prior took on the second quarter with a fierce attitude determined to get equal. Scarlett Clarke giving many opportunities for a goal fortunately Sophie Mck took the ball and scored Katie Marshall (speedster ) ran the right wing crossing in many ferocious balls yet sadly no prior players caught the end of them.

In the third quarter, now that the score line was equal prior wanted to get ahead There were some breaks in the third quarter but Eva Gorman stood strong hitting the ball back up to Jess Gillen in centre mid. Scarlett Clarke made an amazing ariel from a free which Katie Marshall ran onto, which left her with a 1 on 1 with the goalkeeper. Katie successfully found the back of the net putting prior ahead, leaving the score at 2-1.

In the fourth and final quarter ballymena began to get tired Prior took advantage of this and played a seemless quarter performing some beautiful hockey. Alesha Mccandless making many breaks and passing the ball into our right wing Katie hit this ball into Scarlett and Scarlett made the score 3-1. Ballymena began to push in the last minutes but both Kara B and Kara Y cleared the ball at the back without fail.

Considering the girls only had 12 players this week they each played their parts perfectly  staying determined even when the weather took a turn for the worst.

POM was shared between Scarlett C, Sophie McK and Katie M

Prior 3s V Armagh 4s - Friday 18th Oct

Prior 3s had the dreaded trip away to Armagh on Friday night 🚙 With gloomy conditions 💨 and a far away game ahead, prior went all guns blazing 🔥

Starting the first quarter Armagh attacking from the get go 🏃🏻‍♀️but the prior defence stood firm 💪🏼 Play majority being played on the left, Scarlett C and Eva linking 🔗 extremely well between left mid and left back - An unfortunate goal let in from a penalty corner left the game 0-1.  🥅

The second quarter showed the prior girls back with vengeance, determined to get equal 😤Unbelievable ball movement on the pitch 🏑 to our Right Wing (Speedster 🏃🏻‍♀️) Katie providing some outstanding pace, beating Armaghs defence many times meant the prior was in the opponents 25 many time ☄️ Unfortunately the goal 🥅 couldn’t be gotten!! A few dodgy decisions 🫣 meant the girls went 0-3 after another 2 unlucky penalty corner 👀

As quarter 3 began, Emma and Scarlett C under pressure on the left side remained as cool as cucumbers 🥒 Alisha in Centre forward winning multiple frees allowed the girls to attack countless 💯 the Armagh side just seemed to constantly be in the right place and the right time. ❌

The final quarter came, prior with fire in their belly to get goals 🔥Play from Sophie to Kara Bates allowed prior to explore the right side of the pitch allowing Alex King to have a shot at goal which was unluckily saved 👎🏻

The Armagh attack continues leaving goalkeeper Rebecca Downey wide open with some absolutely astonishing saves all game unable to hold the fort in a 2v1 situation leaving the game 0-4. 🥅

The Prior girls played their absolute socks showing a real team performance 👭👭 and each one of us are immensely proud of each other! 🤝 Never an easy game travelling away on a Friday but the girls hold their head high and are ready for another away day next week 🫶🏻

POM - SCARLETT CLARKE 🥳
